Unsung Heroes of the Pandemic

Twitter Facebook A year ago this week, Boston University made the unprecedented announcement that it was shutting down dorms and sending students home as the COVID-19 pandemic surged in Boston. As the one-year anniversary of that historic move approached, we invited members of the BU community to tell us their unsung heroes of the pandemic a teacher, student, staff person, or alum who made a difference in their life, and the life of the University.  We heard from dozens of you, giving shout-outs across the University, from BU’s Facilities staff to some of the many COVID collection site specialists to the Residence Life staff. Together, these folks have helped all of us weather this extraordinarily challenging year.

Keighley aims to be the central hub for apprenticeships in the district in 2021

Keighley College 100 in 100 campaign accelerates apprenticeships in the healthcare sector

College secures a further 13 healthcare sector apprenticeships Keighley College has secured 13 more Health and Social care apprentices with Airedale NHS Foundation Trust, as part of its ongoing 100 in 100 apprenticeship campaign. Since the start of November, a total of 26 students have started new apprenticeships with various businesses within the district. The college, which is part of Luminate Education Group is one of the largest providers of apprenticeships in the district and works closely with more than 150 employers.  The coronavirus pandemic has put some health systems across the country under immense pressure and healthcare workers, who have been at the forefront of this pandemic, have played an instrumental role in the fight against the virus.
