Hyderabad: The Telangana government will appoint Vice-Chancellors in state universities, wherever vacant, by the end of January 2021, Vice-Chairman, Telangana State Planning Board and the former MP from Karimanagar B. Vinod Kumar said on Wednesday.
Addressing at a seminar on ‘Higher Education-Post COVID-19 era’ organized by Hyderabad-based magazine Excel India in association with Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE), Vinod Kumar said the opinion on holding recruitment to teaching faculty posts in all universities in one stroke would be presented to the Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao.

State Planning Board Vice-Chairman B. Vinod Kumar has favoured a consortium of universities recruitment board for filling up vacant posts as the individual recruitment was leading to delay due to legal hassles.
The Bihar government has created the Bihar State University Service Commission to conduct tests and select a teachers’ pool for all the universities for appointment based on their merit and interests, he said. The experiment should be studied, he felt, arguing that recruitments in varsities were being delayed mostly due to litigations.

Telangana State Post Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test (TS PGECET) 2020 second and final round counselling for admission into postgraduate engineering, architecture and pharmacy programmes commenced today (Thursday, 17 December).
The counselling is being conducted by Osmania University, Hyderabad, along with Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE).

Hyderabad: Telangana Engineering Agricultural and Medical Common Entrance Test (TS EAMCET) is likely to be postponed by one month, Times of India reported.
Usually, the exam takes place in May. This year, it is likely to get postponed based on the schedule of intermediate examination. The date will be decided after taking suggestions from the Board of Intermediate Education.
T Papi Reddy, Chairman of Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) said that this year, TS EAMCET is mostly likely to be postponed by four weeks.
