BRADFORD Council’s executive approved an investment of £100,000 to put CCTV in Ilkley town centre when it met on Tuesday. The Ilkley CCTV scheme includes ten high-definition CCTV cameras located within the town centre providing coverage of the key streets and venues. The council believes the investment will help bring a reduction in crime, improve evidence for prosecuting offenders and provide assurance to visitors and residents. The new network could also assist the council in managing events such as the Tour de Yorkshire, traffic and emergencies. The camera locations are currently being discussed with the local ward officer and business representatives but are generally as follows: A65 Leeds Road car park opposite Booths; Junction of A65 Leeds Road/Brook Street/New Brook Street; B6382 Station Road junction with Brook Street; Wells Promenade; B6382 The Grove (various locations); South Hawksworth Street car park (various locations); Church St junction with Cunliffe R
