COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) â An application to the Michigan Economic Development Corporation to help fund a proposed project to turn the former Gillespie Funeral Home into a multi-family dwelling is almost ready to be submitted.
The City of Coldwater and Southern Michigan Bank and Trust are partners on the project. Southern owns the property at 27 Marshall Street.
Economic Development Assistant Audrey Tappenden told the D.D.A. Board on Wednesday there has been a lot of progress since plans for the property were announced.

COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) â Southern Michigan Bank and Trust says they have been made aware that customers who used H&R Block for their tax services may be noticing a delay in getting their stimulus check.
Southern says customers that are affected by this should be receiving their stimulus checks via the method they chose with the tax prep service and they should check with the person who prepared their taxes for more information.
The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and the Treasury Department began delivering the second round of Economic Impact Payments last week.

COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) â The Coldwater Planning Commission will be asked to approve a Special Land Use permit request Monday night from Southern Michigan Bank and Trust so that the former Gillespie Funeral Home can be used as a multi family dwelling.
Southern Michigan Bank & Trust owns the property at 27 Marshall Street. They recently announced they were working with the City of Coldwater and the State of Michigan on grant funding which would be used to restore the building and turn it into a seven unit housing structure that would be known as âSouthern Flats.â
