Amarillo resident Craig Gualtiere released a statement Tuesday, stating his intention to submit a formal signature petition to officials with the city of Amarillo surrounding members of the community’s objection to potential use of certificates of obligation with the City Hall project.
According to previous reports by the Amarillo Globe-News, this petition comes after the city of Amarillo’s numerous discussions, and decisions, regarding the potential future of City Hall.
City officials have previously expressed interest and intent to relocate city offices as the current City Hall is in disrepair and continues to deteriorate. Options moving forward include making minor fixes to the current facility, making long-term repairs to the current facility or moving to another location.
