More Doses of the Moderna Vaccine Arriving to Armstrong

Students, faculty and staff, who have not received a first dose of either vaccine, can get their first dose of the Moderna vaccine on Tuesday, Apr. 13 through the Southside COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic hosted by SouthCoast Medical Group in the Student Union Ballroom from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. These vaccines will only be distributed to students who have an appointment. Ten-minute appointments can be made here.  Students, faculty and staff who received their first dose of the Moderna vaccine through the Armstrong campus on Mar. 16 and will need a second dose of the vaccine on Apr. 13 should go to the Armstrong Recreation Center (ARC) gymnasium to receive their second dose.

The HealthBus Trust worked with the South Coast Medical Group to invite more than 200 people to the YMCA to ensure those who otherwise wouldn’t receive the vaccine had a chance to. Dr Maggie Kirk, clinical director for the HealthBus and GP at the South Coast Medical Group, said: “We’ve set up here because it’s a venue that’s familiar to a lot of people who have been homeless or who are homeless at the moment.

Covid: Bournemouth HealthBus to vaccinate 22 homeless people

MORE than 200 people who are homeless, rough sleeping, or have been temporarily housed will receive the Covid vaccine in Bournemouth. The HealthBus Trust has worked with South Coast Medical Group, BCP Council, YMCA Bournemouth, St Mungo’s, “We are with you” and the Ministry of Defence to ensure this vulnerable group of people can be protected from Covid-19. The invited people will be vaccinated in one day at the YMCA in Bournemouth.  Vice chair of the HealthBus, Chris Wakefield, said: “We have been working with all these organisations and the medical practice (South Coast Medical Group). They have secured the vaccine and made sure the site is safe.

Covid: Where are vaccinations taking place in Dorset?

Thousands of people across the county have now received their first dose of the vaccine.  Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group is asking people to be patient and not contact their GP practice or hospital to request a vaccine. People will be contacted when it s their turn to receive it.  NHS England data published on February 1 shows 918,897 people have had their first dose of the vaccine in the south west with 55,378 receiving their second.  In Dorset, 53,960 people under the age of 80 had received their first dose up to January 24 with 48,206 of over 80s getting theirs. Meanwhile, 7,015 of over 80s in the county had received their second jab within the same period with 1,556 under the age of 80 having theirs.
