Thirteen criminal cases against Crimean Tatars are currently pending before the Southern Military District Court of Rostov-on-Don, Russia.
“Thirteen criminal cases against Crimean Tatars are currently pending before the Southern Military District Court. This is only the first instance. Three more criminal cases are being considered by a court of appeal,” the Crimean Solidarity informs with reference to lawyer Edem Semedliayev, Ukrinform reports.
According to him, a large group of people is defendants in the cases. For example, 25 people are defendants in the second Simferopol “Hizb ut-Tahrir case”, so the investigation divided them in groups of five.

Russian court sentences Crimean resident Prykhodko to five years in prison

The Southern Military District Court in Rostov-on-Don, Russia, sentenced pro-Ukrainian activist from Crimea Oleh Prykhodko to five years in prison and a fine of 110,000 rubles ($1,500). The Southern Military District Court in Rostov-on-Don found Crimean political prisoner Oleh Prykhodko guilty of storage of explosives and preparation for a terrorist attack and sentenced him to five years in a maximum security prison, the Crimean Solidarity reports.
On February 25, the Russian public prosecutor asked to sentence the activist to 11 years in a maximum security prison and a fine of 200,000 rubles.
