Pedestrian dead following crash on South Fremont Avenue
A woman died Tuesday after a driver suffering a medical emergency ran a red light, swerved off the road and hit her while she was walking.
A police spokeswoman said the driver was traveling south in a small SUV on South Fremont Avenue when he ran the red light at Sunset Avenue, swerved off the road and ended up in the yard of a home in the 2700 block.
Somewhere during the incident, he hit a woman walking along the road. It was immediately unclear whether she was walking on the sidewalk or crossing the street when she was hit, police Public Information Officer Jasmine Bailey said.
