Presque Isle saddened by loss of beloved community leader Milt Smith loved to fly. Like the most agile of birds, he’d soar near the clouds, taking in the long-distance view of the community he loved and served. Sometimes in his single-engine fixed-wing plane and sometimes in the Hopper, the one-man balloon he built, Milt Smith could momentarily step back from his busy world to look and listen before he was back on the ground, running.

Tributes to Kenny Fowler of The Dingos | Bradford Telegraph and Argus

TRIBUTES have been paid to a founder member of popular Bradford band The Dingos, who has died. Kenny Fowler was in the original line-up of the Sixties band and was also an accomplished artist. Garth Cawood, who was in The Dingos with Kenny, said: “Ken was a one-off, his unique guitar playing and vocal talent gave the band its original sound. The Dingos were highly regarded in the 60s and were compered alongside the Rolling Stones. Kenny became a highly successful artist but still found time to perform in our reunion shows.” The only son of Norman and Theresa Fowler, Kenny went to Bradford Art College and became an illustrator, working for advertising agencies in Leeds. He later worked as a freelance illustrator until retirement. He painted many watercolours of landscapes, particularly the Dales and Lake District, and seascapes.
