Doctors Manitoba is inviting the public to step out onto porches, driveways or balconies today at 7 p.m., and clang their loudest cookware together in support of physicians provincewide amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

Public health officials announced two new deaths due to COVID-19 on Saturday as the test positivity rate continued to be remain high.
The deaths were in a woman in her 60s from the Northern health region and a man in his 60s from Southern Health, linked to an outbreak at the Emerson Health Centre. That raises the number of deaths due to COVID-19 to 976.

The current five-day COVID-19 test positivity rate is 7.3% provincially and 8.3% in Winnipeg, up slightly from Friday when the rates were 7.2% and 8.2% respectively. However, it marked the sixth day in a row where Winnipeg’s rate has been higher than 8%.
