U.S. regulators have expanded the use of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine to children as young as 12, offering a way to protect the nation’s adolescents before they head back to school in the fall and paving the way for them to return to more normal activities. It had already been approved for children ages 16 and up.

Southwestern Vermont Medical Center nurses gather for dedication and celebration   As a part of activities to celebrate Nurses Week, nurses and leadership from Southwestern Vermont Medical Center, part of Southwestern Vermont Health Care, gathered at 1 p.m., Tuesday, May 11, 2021, in the Memorial Garden on the eastern end of the hospital campus for a nursing celebration.    The program included a welcome and invocation; remarks from President and CEO Thomas A. Dee, FACHE, and Trustee Carol Conroy; the recognition of DAISY Award recipients; the dedications of both the Healers Touch statue and a brick in the garden path to Mary Botter, PhD, RN, former chief nursing officer.
