As the Treasure Valley’s population keeps growing, the abnormality of 2020 only amplified the trends fueling the area’s boom.
The No. 1 state sending newcomers to the Treasure Valley during the pandemic continued to be the state of Idaho itself, followed by California and Washington.
BOISE â St. Lukeâs is hitting the road with lifesaving COVID-19 vaccines and taking them to people in rural, remote and underserved communities in Idaho. A new mobile vaccine unit sets out this week to provide more convenient immunizations for people who have struggled to make appointments, donât have access to a nearby clinic or pharmacy, or donât have transportation.
The retrofitted recreational vehicle is set up to provide hundreds of COVID-19 vaccinations each day with no appointment necessary. It will travel at the request of community groups and companies that would like to host a vaccination event.

BOISE, Idaho St. Vincent de Paul of Southwest Idaho, a non-profit organization dedicated to preventing homelessness, held an open house at their new administrative office in Boise on Friday.
The open house was designed to inform the community of the organization s mission.
In celebration of Idaho Gives, a mobile food pantry with boxes of staple grocery items was available for anyone in need.

Apr. 26 Idaho narrowly missed taking the No. 1 spot for state population growth over the last decade, according to U.S. Census Bureau data released Monday.
Though Idaho has been at the top of census estimates for population growth for several years, its 17.3% growth in population over the last decade wasn t enough to take the top spot, results from the 2020 Census showed. Instead, Idaho came in at a close second to Utah s 18.4% population growth since 2010.
Census officials said Idaho added 271,449 residents in the last decade 52,041 of them in the last year bringing the state s total population to 1,839,106. In the 2010 Census, the agency counted 1,567,657 Idahoans.

In between, a white vinyl fence separates the old Nampa and the new Nampa, one way of life and another. It s really paralyzed us,” Thurgood said. “It really has, to be able to function as a farm.
Thurgood farms on land he owns off Can-Ada Road in north Nampa and leases land nearby, which he said is largely owned by investors. The land he owns is surrounded by new houses.
