A 28-year-old woman was driving the Chevrolet, and she sustained serious injuries, police stated.
Boham on Monday said police are working to determine what could have caused the crash to occur.
“We re looking at any possibility that could have made this happen, including some type of medical emergency,” he said. “But we probably won t know that for quite some time.”
Boham said Beattie’s vehicle appeared to be speeding at the time.
“I can t say how much she was speeding,” Boham said. “She hit with such force that both vehicles went over the embankment.”
A third vehicle, a 2006 Toyota truck, got “clipped in the rear” in the incident, according to police. The driver of that vehicle wasn’t hurt.
