We in Offaly History occupy offices at Bury Quay rebuilt for us in 1991-2 by the John Flanagan firm and now Offaly Archives, another Flanagan development is located at Axis Business Park, Tullamore. Perhaps his greatest achivement was the building of Tullamore Court Hotel. Great in that it was against the odds and had been talked about in Tullamore for thirty years but nothing was done.

Robert Daly, 29 Coologue, Daingean was charged with having no insurance on two separate occasions, on December 10, 2019, at Ballycon, Daingean, and on January 10, 2020 at Daingean Road, Tullamore. He was charged with having no driving licence on December 10, 2019 and with speeding on January 10, 2020. The defending solicitor Donal Farrelly said his client was pleading guilty to all offences. Garda Finbar Leahy told the court that Mr Daly s speed had been 89kph in a 50kph zone and he had a number of previous convictions “including driving under the influence of an intoxicant” and no insurance.

Man in court after stealing nurse s bike from Tullamore hospital Reporter: );   ); A MAN was convicted of stealing a nurse s bike from the hospital during last week s Tullamore Court sitting. Terry Jenkins, 62 Cloncollig Tullamore pleaded guilty to committing the offence on October 27 last at Tullamore hospital. Sgt James O Sullivan told the court the defendant was seen stealing the pedal bike and cycling away. “The nurse s helmet was on the bike as well,” said the sergeant. “The bike was worth €200 and it wasn t recovered.” He said Mr Jenkins had 67 previous convictions including a section 6 public order offence (for which he served three months imprisonment) and section 15 of the theft act (for which he served ten months in Mountjoy).
