Tito Mboweni will definitely be smiling about this one: During President Cyril Ramaphosa’s State of the Nation (SONA) 2021 address on Thursday, progress made by several “masterplans” aimed at reviving South Africa’s economy to respectable levels was outlined – and talk of dramatically scaled chicken production got everyone clucking.
Ramaphosa lauded the results being produced by several manufacturing support programmes – or masterplans – that have been implemented by the Departments of Small Business Development and Trade, Industry and Competition in the poultry and sugar farming industries, and said that these successes are signs of good things to come.
