Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday launched a digital platform Oxygen Monitoring System for UP for 24x7 live monitoring of the oxygen supply system across the state in an attempt to meet the demand of medical oxygen in private and government hospitals of the state.

Chandigarh, April 23 : To strengthen the state s healthcare capabilities amid the Covid surge, Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh on Friday ordered immediate recruitment of 400 nurses and 140 technicians to the government medical colleges, while directing the department to expedite the medical college projects approved.
The Chief Minister, who also raised the issue during the virtual meeting earlier with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, said he will be writing soon to the latter seeking a direction to PGI Satellite Centres and Military Hospitals in Punjab to provide Covid beds to citizens. Pre-fabricated structures could be used for this purpose, he stressed.

Nishtar Hospital lacks medicines, equipment, doctors

MULTAN: Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) president Prof Dr Masood Haraj Wednesday said Nishtar Hospital, Multan, was in immediate need of medicines, equipment, doctors and paramedical staff for coronavirus patients.
Addressing a joint press conference at Multan Press Club, Dr Haraj said at Nishtar Hospital even antiviral injections were not available for the treatment of coronavirus patients and medicines for genera patients were also in severe short supply.
He said the most basic components that are used in the treatment of coronavirus patients were not available at Nishtar Hospital.
He said Punjab was currently suffering from the third wave of coronavirus and COVID-19 patients were increasing rapidly.
