The 15-year-old girl was one of two teenagers charged in connection with the March 23 attack that led to a crash near Nationals Park, where Mohammad Anwar, 66, was killed, according to officials. The other teenager allegedly involved was only 13, police said.

A snow-sledding accident left James A. “Jim” Rothrock paralyzed when he was still a teen in Martinsville, but he went on to a long career in state government helping others with disabilities, not just through policy but with his relentless good cheer. His work, though, was merely an extension of his life. “Jim was a constant fount of unrestrained enthusiasm and boundless optimism,” said his longtime friend Bernie Henderson. “Either he never realized he had some physical restrictions or he just didn’t care. Anytime I was discouraged, angry, frustrated or depressed, I called to get a dose of Jim Rothrock, and that never failed.

December 14, 2020 2749 WATERBURY – Mrs. Marilyn A. (Santopietro) Gerace, age 75, of Waterbury, and Kennebunkport, Maine, passed away on the day of her birth, Sunday, Dec. 13, 2020, at Saint Mary’s Hospital. She was the loving wife of Robert Gerace. Marilyn was born on Dec. 13, 1945, in Waterbury, daughter of the late Ralph and Lillian (Walsh) Santopietro. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School, held a bachelor’s degree in English and Latin from Our Lady of Elms College, and obtained her master’s degree in reading from Southern CT State University. She taught in the Waterbury school system for over 20 years. She began her career at Sacred Heart High School where she taught English and Latin. After having children, Marilyn returned to her profession working part-time at Waterbury Adult Education. She went on to teach at Saint Mary’s School and then Wilby High School where she taught English and Latin and served as department chair until her retirement. She was a m
