REUTERS/Denis Balibouse COVID vaccines approved by the World Health Organization (WHO) do not cause infertility nor do they harm or alter DNA, says director of WHO’s Department of Immunisation, Vaccines and Biologicals, Dr Katherine O’Brien. Responding to queries, she said WHO had two vaccines referred to as mRNA (messenger ribonucleic acid) vaccines. Dr O’Brien said there was “no way” that mRNA could turn into deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA), and that there was “no way” that mRNA could change the DNA of human cells.
