DHAKA, Jan. 12 (Xinhua) The Bangladeshi government has decided to demolish about 700 traditional brick kilns, one of the major sources of air pollution in the country. As air pollution has worsened during this dry season, we decided to strengthen our drive across the country to check the pollution, Director of the Department of Environment (DoE) Md Ziaul Haque told the national news agency BSS recently.
He said as many as 30 illegal brick kilns located around Dhaka city were demolished last week as the DoE has targeted to remove 400 illegal brickfields surrounding the city.
