La série NASCAR Xfinity faisait son premier « voyage de retour » de la saison avec une deuxième course en 2021 sur le Atlanta Motor Speedway. À sa dernière présence, Alex Labbé avait terminé 17e. Il a donc amélioré son résultat de deux positions sur cette même piste.
Les pilotes ont dû braver la chaleur alors que le thermomètre a atteint 30 degrés Celsius pendant la course. « C’était encore une journée très chaude. Nous nous sommes battus pour atteindre la 15e position grâce aux nombreux restart en fin de course. Nous avions la vitesse pour terminer 24 ou 25e, mais les choses ont tout de même bien tourné pour nous », a expliqué le pilote de la voiture 36 Larue.
