Pa. man sought after failing to appear for hearing on charge he lied to police about fatal crash

SELINSGROVE A York man is being sought for failing to appear for a preliminary hearing in Snyder County where he is accused of lying to a state trooper about a fatal accident that occurred last August.
A bench warrant has been issued for Antonio S. Vazquez, 48, who is charged with making false statements.
District Judge John H. Reed proceeded with the hearing Monday in Vazquez’s absence and ordered him held for court.
Vazquez is accused of twice lying when he gave Trooper William Shreve his account of the Aug. 6 accident in which a motorcyclist, Dean M. Dorman, 52, of Selinsgrove, was killed.

SELINSGROVE – A York man has been accused of lying to a state trooper about the circumstances of an August fatal accident in Snyder County in which he was one of the drivers.
A charge of making false statements in law enforcement was filed Tuesday against Antonio S. Vazquez, 48. He will be sent a summons to appear before District Judge John H. Reed.
He is accused of twice lying when he gave Trooper William Shreve his account of the Aug. 6 accident in which a motorcyclist, Dean M. Dorman, 52, of Selinsgrove, was struck by the pickup truck Vazquez was driving and was killed.
Jackson Township, Pa. â State police at Selinsgrove troopers, through the course of an investigation, determined a person involved in a fatal accident allegedly gave a false statement.
According to a Dec. 18 press release by Trooper William Shreve, Antonio Vazquez, 48, of York, gave a false statement to officers regarding the investigation.
Shreve said charges were filed through Magisterial District Court 17-3-03 in Snyder County.
According to a report from the Daily Item, Vazquez was traveling southbound in a 2019 Ford F-350 on the morning of Aug. 6. The truck reportedly crossed the center line and collided with a 2009 Harley-Davidson Sportster operated by Dean Dorman, 52, of Selinsgrove.
