Over the weekend, Representatives Matt Gaetz and Marjorie Taylor Greene stopped by The Villages, a retirement community in Florida, for their “America First” tour, which is essentially just Trump rallies without Donald Trump. You might remember the Villages from that time Trump retweeted a video of one of his supporters yelling “white power” during a rally there. I’m sure Greene and Gaetz felt right at home.
Greene’s speech was exactly what you’d expect. She criticized Democrats for impeaching Trump over a “perfect phone call,” suggested literally every person who voted for Joe Biden is “antifa or BLM or democratic socialists,” and declared that Donald Trump is the real president.

Gambling is slowly becoming a major industry across numerous global economies, but just how much of the funds spent in the betting agencies goes back into businesses and local governments?
A Peak at the Global Gambling Industry
The gambling industry, online as well as brick-and-mortar businesses, are quickly becoming a staple of the global economy.
Roughly 26 percent of people gamble regularly around the world, with a further 4.2bn betting at least once a year, depending on nationality, statistics show.
With Gaming Poised To Expand In Florida, Top Developers Are On Opposite Sides Of The Issue
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on April 23 signed a compact with the Seminole Tribe of Florida. It would expand gaming in the state, guarantee the state $2.5B in revenue sharing in the next five years and $6B through 2030, and give the tribe the exclusive right to operate sports betting in the state through 2030.
Critics have vowed to stop the plan, alleging it is unconstitutional.
Some of the state’s biggest real estate players are lining up on either side of the fight, with some potentially in a position to build huge casino resorts, and others fearing the effects if such establishments come to fruition.
The Lily Cafe to open in Sarasota
A new breakfast and lunch cafe is coming to south Sarasota from the same Naples-based group that plans to open a restaurant and bar in the University Town Center area.
The restaurant, called The Lily Cafe, will open in Sarasota’s The Landings plaza at U.S. 41 and Proctor Road next to Publix. The 2,900-square-foot eatery, scheduled to open in June, will be able to seat about 150 people, owner George Wood said.
Wood’s family is the driving force behind the award-winning Naples restaurant Jane’s Cafe on 3rd, and Georgie’s Garden Cafe and Bar George, two new concepts that are in the works for the West District at University Town Center. Both the West District and The Landings are owned by Benderson Development Co. of Manatee County.
