Di Lothrop, vice chair of the Nashua Republican City Committee, is comfortable dealing with controversy.
Tasked with booking speakers for the party’s events, she once chose former Sheriff Joe Arpaio for the annual fundraiser. She recalls the throng of protesters outside, infuriated by Arpaio’s hard-right stance on immigration and accusations of police misconduct under his watch.
Her annual fundraiser this August, a “steak out” at a Marriott in Nashua, will almost certainly be similarly charged: its keynote speaker is Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL).
The network, citing two people familiar with the matter, reported the embattled Gaetz tried to schedule a visit with Trump after it was first reported he was under federal investigation but the request was turned down by aides close to the former president.
Gaetz and his allies vehemently shot down the report.

This is a total lie.
I am on a pre-planned vacation with my fiancée. I was welcomed at Trump Doral days ago.
No such meeting was denied nor sought.
Gabby, “unnamed sources” lied.
Gaetz spokesman Harlan Hill told The Hill that the congressman did not ask for a meeting with Trump this week.
So, we already know that Congressman Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) is a Trump-thirst trapping, alleged child sex trafficking, I-need-my-rich-daddy-to-finance-my-failure-up-in-life-because-I-ain’t-shit fuckboi, and I was gonna write about that, but my boss told me we already know that Gaetz is a bird. Instead, she asked me to write about something a bit more substantive: Gaetz’s apparent ignorance on the history of racism in the U.S. transportation system.
Graham, though, feels otherwise. A vocal defender of the former president who has come out in support of him on several issues and said last December that Trump would go down in history as one of the greatest presidents, said that it was the latter’s selflessness that saw his wealth declining.

“President Trump did not even take a salary when he was serving as president he gave it all back. So many politicians leave office with far more money than when they came into office. This report says he dropped about $1B in wealth during those 4 years while he served,” Graham tweeted in response to an article in USA TODAY.
