Nevenka Borici
WATERBURY – Mrs. Nevenka (Mitkosska) Borici, 82, entered the gates of heaven on Saturday, Feb. 20, 2021, at Saint Mary’s Hospital. She was the loving wife of the late Quemel Borici.
Nevenka was born in Macedonia, Yugoslavia, on Jan. 20, 1939, a daughter of the late Maritza Mitkosska. Nevenka, along with her husband Quemel and family, came to the United States in 1963, first settling in New York and later moving to the Waterbury area in 1971. She worked for Fletcher’s Finishing in Waterbury for over 18 years until her retirement.
Nevenka was a fabulous cook. She not only made her ethnic Yugoslavian dishes but also liked making Italian and Spanish dishes, that she passed on to her family and friends to enjoy. She also enjoyed tending to her vegetable garden and flower beds, but her true love was spending time with her family, especially all of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, who she was very proud of.

WATERBURY – Mrs. Vita “Marie” (Muscillo) Fidanza, 88, of Waterbury, Conn., passed away peacefully at the Mansfield Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation in Storrs, Conn., on Friday, Jan. 29, 2021. She was the beloved widow of Agostino “Gus” Fidanza Jr. who passed in 2012.
Marie was born in Waterbury, June 15, 1932, daughter of the late Dominic and Antoinette (Tuscillo) Muscillo. She was a graduate of Waterbury Catholic High class of 1950. She met her husband Gus while working for Bozzuto’s Candy and they were married in 1956. They lived in the house that Gus built for their entire married life together. After a time being a stay-at-home mom, she went to work as an administrative assistant for St. Vincent dePaul Society Shelter for the Homeless until her retirement.
