It may have received very mixed reviews in the UK for its denouement, but record-breaking series six of Line of Duty is on its way to China after a deal struck by ITV Studios with video app Pumpkin Film in China.
The award-winning crime drama - written and created by Jed Mercurio and produced by ITV-owned World Productions for BBC One - follows a police anti-corruption unit AC-12 and series leads Vicky McClure, Martin Compston and Adrian Dunbar all return to reprise their iconic roles. It also features Kelly McDonald (Trainspotting, Boardwalk Empire, Giri/Haji) guest starring in a new leading role as Detective Chief Inspector Joanne Davidson - a senior investigating officer on an unsolved murder, whose unconventional conduct raises suspicions at AC-12.

Asked on BBC Radio 6 Music if she would be tuning in, the actress replied: Hell, no! I watched the first episode and I m sort of… no!
The 45-year-old star added: It s not like I don t ever watch anything that I have done. It was just a bit too much for me. I thought I could watch it. I tried to watch it. It turns out I cannot watch it.

Line of Duty is moving forward with series six, but fans have been noticing an increasing number of clever links back to the first ever season.
The show launched in 2012 with the first episodes focusing on the story focusing on Detective Chief Inspector Tony Gates, played by Lennie James.
Series one first teamed AC-12 newbie Steve Arnott [Martin Compston] with DC Kate Fleming [Vicky McClure] who was working undercover.
Fast forward to series six, and there have been more and more throwbacks to season one - and fans have started to think these clues might be the key to unravelling the entire murky plot.
