NASHVILLE, Tenn. A Tennessee man has been arrested in the fatal shooting of a Nashville intensive care nurse.
Devaunte Lewis Hill, 21, was charged with criminal homicide in Caitlyn Kaufman’s death, the Metro Nashville Police Department tweeted on Friday. The 26-year-old healthcare worker was murdered during her commute to St. Thomas West Hospital on Dec. 3.

According to The Associated Press, a Metro Parks police officer found Kaufman’s gray Mazda CX-5 SUV on the right shoulder of Interstate 440 at 8:52 p.m. and stopped, believing it to be a single-car crash site. He discovered a woman was shot.

Suspect arrested in slaying of Nashville ICU nurse Jessica Schladebeck
Authorities in Tennessee have arrested a suspect in the murder of an intensive care unit nurse, who was fatally shot while she was commuting to work last week.
Devaunte Hill was taken into custody early Friday morning by Metro Nashville Police Department SWAT team members at his home in Berkshire Place Apartments, according to authorities. He is facing a criminal homicide charge in the slaying of Caitlyn Kaufman.
The 26-year-old was on her way to Saint Thomas West Hospital for a 7 p.m. shift when a gunman opened fire on her gray Mazda SUV. Her body was found hours later by an officer, who initially believed her car had been involved in a single-vehicle crash.
