Halifax County deputies are asking for the public s help as they continue to search for a missing Enfield man.
Lacy Bunch, 72, was reported missing on Dec. 20 and was last seen in the 500 block of Bell Street in Enfield. Bunch was described as a black man who is 5-feet, 5-inches tall, weighs approximately 130 pounds and has a slim build, short red hair, brown eyes and light brown skin complexion.
He was last seen wearing a dark colored T-shirt, gray pants and believed to not be wearing socks or shoes. According to family members, Bunch suffers from dementia and may not have been taking his medication.
The Halifax County Sheriffâs Office is still searching for missing person Lacy Bunch, 72, according to a press release received Tuesday afternoon.
âWe have conducted extensive searches in the area to no avail,â said Chief Deputy Scott Hall. âWe ask that if anyone has any information concerning Mr. Bunchâs wherea- bouts to call the Halifax County Sheriffâs office at 252-583-8201.â
As previously reported, the sheriffâs office responded to a report of a missing person at about 7 a.m. Sunday. Bunch was last seen in the 500 block of Bell Street in Enfield.
Bunch is an African-American male, 5 feet, 5 inches tall, weighing approximately 130 pounds, slim build, short red hair, brown eyes and a light brown skin complexion.
At about 2:30 p.m. on Monday, Lt. E. Carroll with the Halifax County Sheriffâs Office attempted to stop a 1998 Oldsmobile on Interstate 95 near the 172 mile post for reckless driving, speeding, seat belt violation and failure to operate headlamps in the rain.
The vehicle failed to stop and Carroll gave chase in and around the city of Roanoke Rapids and then back onto I-95, according to a press release from Chief Deputy Scott Hall. The driver, Nathan Lassiter Keith, 21, of Raleigh, fled into Virginia and later crashed into the guardrail in an attempt to cross the interstate. Keith jumped from the vehicle and fled on foot and was later apprehended a short distance from the crash site by Carroll and Deputy M. Bishop. Keith was turned over to the Virginia State Police for impaired driving.
