NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) â The life and legacy of former state Senator Thelma Harper will be celebrated next week. The week of events begins Monday with viewing services and end Thursday with a Celebration of Life service and Rally & BBQ for the public.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) â Nashville hosted a virtual town hall today as part of its campaign to increase vaccinations in communities of color.
The virtual event was hosted by Deputy Mayor Brenda Haywood, Rep. Harold Love Jr. and Dr. Joanna Shaw Kai-Kai, along with the Metro Public Health Department.
The point of it is to sort out what s true and what isn t about the vaccine. That way people have a better understanding of the importance of vaccinations.

The event, which will be held via Zoom, will take place on Thursday, March 4, at 6 p.m. Metro says it will be an âimportant community conversation on reducing barriers to choosing and getting the vaccine in Nashville.â

Edgar E.J. Utley was remembered for his sense of humor, kind heart, and for being a friend to many.
A large crowd gathered at Hartman Community Park for a candlelight vigil. They prayed, shared memories and released balloons in E.J. s honor.
