COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) attempted to serve a warrant on Tuesday to Jeremiah Burris, 39, of Columbus, who was wanted on preliminary charges of four counts of invasion of privacy and failure to register as a sex offender.
As deputies approached his residence, they could reportedly hear him talking inside. The suspect supposedly opened the door but immediately closed it after seeing deputies. Eventually, BCSO made contact with him and he arrested was without further incident.
“We take this very seriously,” said Chief Deputy Major Chris Lane. “When sex offenders fail to register, it is a risk to our community and it’s a public safety issue.”

COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) was called to U.S. 31 and Woodland Parks Drive Tuesday evening, in regards to a suspicious person.
Deputies located a male and recognized him as Isaiah Perry, 32, of Columbus, who had an outstanding Bartholomew County arrest warrant. He was taken into custody. Law enforcement allegedly found narcotics, paraphernalia, and a digital scale in his possession. BCSO also located suspected methamphetamine in a jacket that the man had apparently dropped near a home in the area.
Perry was remanded to Bartholomew County Jail on preliminary charges of possession of meth, possession of paraphernalia, and the warrant.
