BANGKOK, Thailand – The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) officially launched its Rapid Recovery Task Force (PRRT) at the association’s Engagement Hub at its head office in Bangkok on January 31.
The PRRT is a standing task force of the PATA CEO and seven volunteers who will collectively try to help PATA member destinations during and after times of crisis, such as SARS, floods, tsunamis, disease outbreaks, and terrorist incidents, all of which have had a massive impact on Asia Pacific destinations in the last 10 years or so. The objective is to help destinations return to “normal” as quickly as possible.

City of Málaga and Kapsch sign agreement
The cooperative agreement with Kapsch TrafficCom (Kapsch) will make Málaga the first city in Europe to test the latest dynamic signaling system and real-time traffic optimizer for the improvement of urban mobility. With a duration of two years and the possibility of two annual extensions, the pioneering projects will complement tests carried out in other European cities. It is very satisfying for Málaga to be the first city in Europe to realise a project of this magnitude. The technology will optimise the city s traffic for the benefit of our citizens quality of life, resulting in less time in the car throughout their journey, said José Del Río, Málaga s Councillor for Mobility.
