Eid Mubarak: Let s feed our neighbours Krachi East Imam LISTEN
3 HOURS AGO
Huudu Harunah, Deputy Krachi East Chief Imam has urged all Muslims to declare their commitment to feed their neighbours as they celebrate Eid-Mubarak.
Mr Harunah said this during the Eid Mubarak prayers at Sankis park at Dambai in the Krachi East Municipality of the Oti Region.
He said their beloved prophet Muhammad constantly emphasised the importance of giving food to their neighbours and be either a Muslim or non- Muslim, they must make it a priority to ensure that those around them do not go to sleep hungry.
Professor Ibrahim Maqari, the Deputy Chief Imam of the National Mosque, Abuja, has said those killed by bandits and kidnappers will directly be going to “paradise.”
Maqari disclosed this while stressing that Islam forbids Muslims to pay money as ransom to enemies they are at war with.
The Deputy Chief Imam spoke during Ramadan’s tafsir in Abuja.
Maqari said kidnappers should not be paid a ransom in order to starve them of the funds they could use to boost their activities.
He said: “Since Allah (SWT) has forbidden the payment of money to an enemy who is at war with you, in order not to empower them to continue to fight you, then contributing money as ransom for the release of kidnapped persons, is haram (prohibited).
Nigeria needs forgiveness, reconciliation to overcome cycle of violence – Lalong
On
By Marie-Therese Nanlong
Bloodshed, destruction of property and cycle of violence in the country will not abate except Nigerians learn to forgive one another and foster peaceful coexistence in communities.
This was the view of Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong, expressed on Sunday during an inter-denominational service at St. Louis Catholic Church, Jos to mark the State’s third Day of Forgiveness and Reconciliation.
The Governor noted that although acts of criminality must be swiftly investigated and punished by Government and its relevant organs, the long-term ambition of every Nigerian who desires peace is to tow the path of forgiveness and reconciliation.
