London, KY, USA / SAM 103.9 FM WWEL | Today s Pop Hits May 24, 2021 | 11:49 AM Laurel County Sheriff John Root says Deputy Justin Taylor along with Deputy Landry Collett and Deputy Tommy Houston pulled over a suspicious vehicle off I-75 just north of London at around 1 am. During the roadside investigation the driver, later identified as 35-year-old Benjamin Liford of Corbin, refused to provide his identification and said he had no driver’s license. He then took off on foot but was caught a short distance away. After a scuffle he was taken into custody. During his arrest he was found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine, suspected heroin, suspected cocaine, and Xanax. Liford was also wanted on an outstanding warrant. Meanwhile the passenger, 28-year-old Liza Godfrey of London, was arrested after she was found to be wanted on a probation violation warrant. Both were lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
