Provincial Waterworks Authority (PWA) has responded to a new governmental directive, to help alleviate the financial burden of the general public affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, with the introduction of a 10% reduction on water bills. The scheme is applicable to small residential accommodations and premises only (excluding government and state-owned agencies) during February and March 2021. The bill reduction is expected to provide relief for up to 4.55 million people, a cost equivalent to 257 million baht.

published : 30 Dec 2020 at 12:16 2 The Provincial Waterworks Authority (PWA), led by Mr. Kritsada Sunkhamani, Deputy Governor (Technical Affairs) and Acting Governor, revealed that the PWA has strengthened its efforts to reduce the risk of the spread of Covid-19 by maintaining strict safety and health measures in all its 234 branches nationwide, including providing alcohol gel and wash hand basins for visitors, and cleaning the office building and water production stations with disinfectant. The measures are designed to ensure that people who use the services can be confident that they will be safe. Mr. Kritsada revealed that the PWA installed a temporary four-inch water meter and provided water supply for consumption without charge to the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA), Ministry of Interior, in Samut Sakhon Province, a red zone requiring maximum control, to ensure sufficient clean water during the emergency situation.
