STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. Police are responding to an alleged shooting in Stapleton on Saturday night.
A large police presence formed on the 900 block of Van Duzer Street at about 8 p.m. after police received a call about a man who was allegedly shot in the back, police said.
According to emergency radio transmissions, the alleged gunman fled on foot armed with an assault rifle.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. A local restaurant and brewery are opening its doors and hearts this holiday season.
Craft House and Kills Boro Brewing Company, located at 60 Van Duzer Street in Tompkinsville, will cook up meals to help feed families in need starting Thursday, Dec. 24. Partnering with Project Hospitality, the restaurant and brewery aim to produce and distribute meals to feed 10 families a week, averaging at over 40 people in total. The goal of this month-long initiative is to provide relief to families impacted by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
