This downtown loft underwent a top-to-bottom makeover by Dwellings, an interior design service and home furnishings store serving the Madison area. Among the many people Kodiak recently bade final farewell to are Ellen Ross, Bob Bunsey and Lucien Bernard. All three will be remembered and revered for their vibrant, outspoken faith, which translated into action.
Ellen had a heart for the shut-ins. She and her husband, the late Bill Ross, often visited residents of the long-term Care Center at Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center. They started their ministry in 1984 and kept doing it for 28 years.Â
âWhat I enjoyed most was coming here, seeing these faces and loving them,â Ellen said in an article from the Care Center. âI was here every Sunday except when we were fishing during the summer. There was always a volunteer to fill in if I couldnât make it.â
HALIFAX Guysborough County District RCMP is investigating an arson after they say two camps were deliberately set on fire. At 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday, RCMP received a report of two camps being burned down on Canso Branch Road in Half Island Cove, N.S. Police say the initial investigation indicates that both fires were deliberately set. They believe the fires were set between April 4 and April 5. Anyone with information about the fires is asked to contact the Guysborough County District RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
