Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday congratulated the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government for providing free health coverage to all residents of the province under the Sehat Sahulat Programme.
In a tweet on Monday morning, the premier said that about 40 million people will receive free healthcare of upto Rs1m every year in more than 400 hospitals both public and private, adding that KP was the first province in the country to provide universal health coverage for its residents.

K-P Assembly on Monday passed three bills including Khyber Pakthunkhwa Amendment of Certain Fiscal Laws Bill, 2021 under which the government has widened the property tax net.
The Khyber Pakthunkhwa Trust (Amendment) Bill 2021 was also introduced in the assembly and the Khyber Pakthunkhwa Amendment of Certain Fiscal Laws Bill, 2021, Khyber Pakthunkhwa Control of Narcotics Substance (Amendment) Bill 2021, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sugar Factories Control (Amendment) Bill 2020 were passed by the house.
The house earlier resumed its session with a 15-point agenda.
A privilege motion was submitted by MPA Fazal Ilahi in which he blamed that Assistant Commissioner Rizwani Dar on December 19 removed all his inauguration boards in the Mattani area.

PESHAWAR: Construction work on various developmental projects under Prime Minister 1000 Playground Project continued in full swing across the province including merged tribal areas and a total of 150 projects would be completed by June 2021.
In this connection, project director Prime Minister 1000 Grounds Development Murad Ali Mohmand along with his team paid a surprise visit to Buner, Mardan, Dir Lower, Malakand, Kohat, Dera Ismail Khan, Bannu, Karak, Orakzai, Tank, Mohmand, and Bajaur including merged areas and inspected the going construction work on establishment of cricket, playground, basketball, volleyball courts, indoor ball halls and construction of a separate indoor hall for female.

Another doctor fell victim to the Covid-19 in the K-P pushing the total number of doctor died in the pandemic across the province so far to 41. Two medical students have also lost their lives to the deadly Coronavirus.
Lady Doctor Khula Jabeen is the latest victim who also lost her husband Dr Iqrar Hussain Zaidi on December 4 due to Covid.
She graduated from Khyber Medical College in the year 1982 and had a specialization in radiology. Currently she was working in a hospital in University Town. She had been admitted to the Hayatabad Medical Complex (HMC) a month ago and had been on ventilator ever since. On Wednesday she breathed her last after battling for life almost for a month.

Ten more people lost their lives to the deadly Covid-19 in the province within the past 24 hours, pushing the total number of deaths in the province to 1,627.
236 new cases have surfaced in the province whereas 762 patients recovered lately.
As per the Health Department, one patient each in Swabi and Malakand, two in Manshera and three patients in Kohat lost their lives.
