Twenty-four Bangladeshis returned home through Cox s Bazar s Teknaf border today after serving jail for different terms in Myanmar.
Myanmar Border Guard Police (BGP) handed them over to Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) through a flag meeting between BGB and BGP in Maungdaw near Teknaf this morning, said Lt Col Foysal Hasan Khan, commanding officer of BGB battalion-2 in a press briefing at Tenknaf jetty ghat.
The returnees include 12 people from Teknaf, eight from Rangamati, three from Bandarban and one person from Rajshahi, our Cox s Correspondent reports, quoting the BGB official.
