OSWEGO, IL One man is dead and a woman is injured after a motorcycle collided with a vehicle on Route 30 and Kendall Point Drive on Wednesday evening, according to police.
Oswego Police Department and Fire Protection District were called to the scene of the crash at around 6:10 p.m. There, officers took over from a witness who attempted to render aid to 31-year-old motorcyclist James Khawshaba, who later died from his injuries at a local hospital.
The driver of a Kia Optima was taken to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Lorrie Lackland, 55, was cited for operating an uninsured vehicle and failing to yield while turning left.

HALF MOON BAY, Calif. - A Redwood City man was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of assaulting a woman who was riding a bike along Highway 1 on a trail next to the beach.
Deputies from the San Mateo County Sheriff s Office responded within two minutes of the 9:07 a.m. report and arrested Andrew William Seba Kern on suspicion of several offenses: assault with a deadly weapon, robbery, intimidating a witness and committing a felony while on bail.
Resident suffers minor injury in Mundelein house fire

A resident suffered a minor injury Wednesday morning after fire broke out in a Mundelein home, authorities said.
Mundelein firefighters responding to the blaze in the 900 block of Countryside Highway arrived at 7:36 a.m. to find smoke from the roof area of the single-family residence.
The first arriving crew pulled a hose line to the front of the structure and aggressively attacked the fire, while firefighters entered the home to search for trapped occupants and check for extension of the fire, officials said.
The fire was reported under control at approximately 7:43 a.m., according to the Mundelein Fire Department.

The Roodhouse Fire Protection District had a busy night Saturday.
Fire department personnel was called to clear a fire alarm at an undetermined time Saturday evening in the City of Roodhouse.
A short time after the fire alarm call was cleared without incident, they were called to a fully involved structure fire at 244 West Roodhouse Road, about 1/4 mile west of Roodhouse. According to a post on the Fire Protection District’s Facebook page, strong winds fueled the spread of the fire while rural firefighting tactics were used for suppression.
Fire Chief Terry Hopkins said the cause of the fire is undetermined and will likely remain that way, as the home was completely engulfed when they arrived: “It’s going to be really hard to come up with anything on [the cause of the fire] because of the condition it was in when we got there.
