Early Voting Begins in Grundy County For April Consolidated Election

Grundy County Clerk, Kay Olson, would like to remind residents of the upcoming April 6, 2021 Consolidated Election. Offices up for Election are: Municipal; Township; Park & Library Offices; Unit, Grade and High School Board Members; Community College & Regional Board of Education Trustees; Fire Protection District Trustees. Early Voting is available Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., now through April 5th, at the Office of the County Clerk, Grundy County Courthouse, 111 E. Washington St., Morris. Additional Early Voting hours are: Sat - March 6th - 9:00 a.m. to Noon, Sat - March 27th - 9:00 a.m. to Noon, Tues - March 30th - 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Thurs - April 1st - 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Fri. - April 2nd - Closed for Spring Holiday.

Canton Fire Department responds to structure fire Canton Daily Ledger CANTON The Canton Fire Department responded to a structure fire located at 1050 South 6th Street Sunday night about 11:15 p.m. While enroute, dispatch notified crews everyone had exited the structure. Upon arrival, fire personnel found the garage fully involved with fire. The story above the garage was partially involved. A MABAS box alarm was sounded bringing all off duty Canton Firefighters to the scene. Fire crews stretched hose lines to the rear of the structure to protect the nearby residence as well as to the garage door side to extinguish the fire. CFD personnel continued fire suppression operations as crews from Copperas Creek Fire Protection District and Buckheart Fire Department arrived on scene to assist with the fire.
