Local business helps out Quesnel Fire Department SHARE ON: The Quesnel Volunteer Fire Department has received a generous donation from a local business. Assistant Fire Chief Ron Richert says AUL Industrial Repair donated over 5 thousand dollars of rope rescue equipment for industrial and embankment operations. He says this type of equipment isn’t cheap and comes in handy, especially during low bank operations.. “It’s just to that level where it’s just steep enough that we don’t want to risk our people falling down so we’ll do rope rescue, and even getting a person out for a low bank rescue, we’ll put them in a basket or a stretcher and bring them up.”

Fire fighters in Quesnel called to structure fire SHARE ON: The Quesnel Volunteer Fire Department responded to a vehicle/house fire over the weekend. Assistant Fire Chief Ron Richert says they were called out to a residence on Joy Road, south of town, just after midnight on Sunday morning… “It was dispatched by 9-1-1, from the resident of the home. Upon arrival the duty officer had a fully involved vehicle fire which was in close proximity to the home which also suffered some damage.” Richert says there were actually two vehicle that were involved… “There were two vehicle that were damaged, one slightly, the other one was completely destroyed, and definitely some damage to the front side of the home.”

Firefighters in Quesnel respond to structure fire SHARE ON: The Quesnel Volunteer Fire Department was called out to a trailer fire in the Red Bluff area. Assistant Fire Chief Ron Richert goes over a few of the details… “We were called out at 10-27 this morning to a residence on Mountain Ash Road. Upon arrival we had smoke in the building.” Richert says two people were home at the time and called 9-1-1. He says no one was hurt. Richert says they were on scene for about 45 minutes as they quickly knocked the fire down. He says there is some damage to the walls and pipes inside the trailer, as well as some minor smoke damage.
