Local MACE Retailer s son raises €4,000 for Down Syndrome Ireland

LMFM By Caitriona Rooney Aaron Walsh and Thomas Sullivan recently presented a fundraising cheque for €4,000 to Down Syndrome Ireland, which are the proceeds from a hugely successful fundraising cycle the duo undertook on behalf of MACE’s official charity partner. The cycle, which was supported by Aaron’s father and local MACE Clogherhead Retailer, Niall Walsh, was in accordance with the Government guidelines regarding Covid-19 restrictions and saw the intrepid duo cycle in a 5km repetitive loop from Walsh’s MACE Clogherhead. The pair received tremendous support from all in MACE Clogherhead and from the local community who cheered them on throughout.

LMFM By Caitriona Rooney Ability Online was developed in response to the coronavirus pandemic, following concerns raised by families about the lack of services available to adults with Down syndrome. Down syndrome Ireland launch fundraising campaign alongside charity partners MACE to provide new online education course to older adults with Down syndrome in Ireland     96% of graduates employed following DSI’s Ability Programme have been furloughed, with 2 being supported to work remotely since the pandemic   Down syndrome Ireland (DSI) and charity partners MACE, Ireland’s longest established convenience retailer, have launched a national fundraising campaign to support adults with Down syndrome experiencing isolation and limited job opportunities due to Covid-19.
