Capetown, May 14 (PTI) India s Tvesa Malik made a good start before dropping two bogeys to finish at even-par 72 and lie tied fifth after the first round of the Investec South African Women s Open golf tournament here. Tvesa had a share of the lead for some part of the day before faltering at the Westlake Golf Club. Tvesa, who is opening her 2021 Ladies European Tour season this week, shot three birdies against three bogeys and trailed home star, Lee-Anne Pace and Welsh Lydia Hall, who carded two-under 70 each on the opening day.

The European Tour today added the Tenerife Championship to its 2021 schedule, with the new event concluding a three week run in the Canary Islands.
It will be played at Golf Costa Adeje from May 6 -9, the date vacated by the postponement of the Open de France last week.
The Tenerife Championship will have a prize fund of â¬1.5million and forms a double-header at the venue, taking place the week after the Tenerife Open (April 29-May 2). The European Tourâs three tournament stretch in the Canary Islands begins with next weekâs Gran Canaria Lopesan Open which is hosted by Ryder Cup player Rafa Cabrera Bello at Meloneras Golf.
PARIS (AP) â Next month’s Open de France golf tournament has been postponed because of the coronavirus pandemic, the European Tour said Wednesday.
The event was scheduled for May 6-9 but canât go ahead due to a surge of new infections in France. The government recently introduced partial lockdown measures that included school closures and a month-long domestic travel ban.
No new date has been set for the tournament, which is played about 20 km (12.4 miles) southwest of Paris in the town of Guyancourt.
âWe will continue to look at all options in the hope of playing the tournament later this year,” European Tour Chief Executive Keith Pelley said.
