CBeebies Jo Jo and Gran Gran nominated for 2021 Rockie Award at the Banff World Media Festival SUCCESS: CBeebies programme Jo Jo and Gran Gran is centred around a black British family POPULAR CHILDREN’S programme Jo Jo and Gran Gran has been nominated for a Rockie Awards International Program Competition at this year’s annual Banff World Media Festival. After beginning as a successful book launch from author Laura Henry, the CBeebies show was adapted to the small screen and follows a black British family throughout their day-to-day lives. The programme has been hailed for its diversity and representation as it is the first ever British animated series that focuses on a black family.
