THE DUP has been accused of deliberate fudging after the party appeared uncertain about the reasons for its minister s failure to attend last Friday s North-South Ministerial Council (NSMC) meeting.
The DUP faced widespread criticism for the no show, which party leader Arlene Foster said was because there wasn t anyone available for the meeting involving Stormont Infrastructure Minister Nichola Mallon and the Republic s Transport Minister Eamon Ryan.

Northern Ireland can begin rebuilding its economy under plans to ease Covid-19 restrictions from next week, Economy Minister Diane Dodds has said.
On Thursday the Stormont executive agreed reopening dates for some sectors, including hairdressers, non-essential retail and hospitality.
The current lockdown has been in place for more than 100 days in a bid to curb the spread of coronavirus.
Mrs Dodds said precautions would still be needed to reopen businesses safely.

Economy Minister Diane Dodds says businesses need to be be able to reopen as soon as possible following the latest lockdown.
There have been some minor relaxations of the strict rules which have been in effect since December but most businesses remain closed.
Diane Dodds said a number of sectors in the economy have been “terribly impacted” by the coronavirus pandemic, noting that there is a backlog of 3,000 weddings to take place in the hotel sector.
