Mrs. World Inc. announced in a statement on Wednesday that it received the resignation of Caroline Jurie, and therefore, Mrs. Ireland Kate Schneider was the new titleholder. The agency published a photograph of Schneider with the title Mrs. World. Jurie was involved in a controversy at the Mrs. Sri Lanka pageant after she aggressively pulled the crown off the head of the title winner Pushpika De Silva, inuring her at a ceremony on national TV.

Mrs World Caroline Jurie Resigns Amidst Uncrowning Drama The international Mrs World Inc. Organisation on Wednesday said it has accepted the resignation of 2020 Mrs World, Caroline Jurie, after she decided to hand over her crown. The organisation, in a statement, said that Kate Schneider, the first runner-up at the international pageant and Mrs Ireland World, will take over as the new Mrs World 2020, following Jurie’s resignation. Jurie who is from Sri Lanka was crowned the Mrs World 2020 in 2019 and was to hold the international crown till December 2021 but she decided to hand over after she forcibly uncrowned the Mrs Sri Lanka 2021 winner in a pageant held in Colombo in April this year.

Caroline Jurie, 28, who is the current Mrs World, attacked Pushpika De Silva as she was being crowned Mrs Sri Lanka in a pageant ceremony in Colombo earlier this month. Ms Jurie had herself been crowned Mrs Sri Lanka in 2019 before going onto win the Mrs World title. Ms Jurie was arrested and released on bail following the bizarre incident, which was aired on Sri Lankan TV and broadcast live on social media.
