JAMMU/SRINAGAR/ LEH, Apr 19: A massive surge of 451 COVID positive cases in Jammu district saw Jammu region overtaking Kashmir division recording 768 positives as against 748 of Kashmir valley while the Union Territory reported six more casualties today. The district administration Jammu has declared five localities as micro-Containment Zones under Section 144 following spike in the cases while authorities in Leh today ordered that only those labourers with RT-PCR negative report not older than 96 hours will be allowed to enter Leh.

JAMMU/SRINAGAR/ LEH, Apr 14: COVID positive cases continued to stay above 1000 while six more persons succumbed to the virus in Jammu and Kashmir as Ladakh also reported spike recording 165 new positives, 154 of them in Leh alone and 11 in Kargil district.
Four Corona casualties and 402 cases were reported in Jammu region while two deaths and 684 new cases were recorded in Kashmir today. Total cases in J&K stood at 1086.
Of four fatalities in Jammu region, three were reported in Jammu district and one in Poonch taking Corona toll to 758. Among the dead were two women.

JAMMU, Apr 12: Wine traders staged a protest demonstration outside the office of Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) at Trikuta Nagar, here today to express their resentment against the e-auction of liquor vends under new Excise Policy 2021-22 in the Union Territory of J&K.
Scores of wine traders from Jammu and adjoining districts assembled this afternoon in front of BJP office and while holding pamphlets with anti-BJP slogans written on them, stage silent protest.
While raising anti-BJP, the protesting wine traders said that the new Excise policy 2021-22 has been spelt out to allot liquor vends through an e-auction, which would eliminate local businesspersons from the trade and would benefit only rich capitalists from outside J&K.
