Description:
A beautiful small babbler with a black head, bright silver ear (which made the name), orange underparts, and a bright red wing patch and tail base. Male has jet-black crown to lores. Bill orange-yellow and legs yellowish flesh.
Unfortunately a common target of the cage bird trade.
Habitat:
Occurs at > 600 m.
Bushes, undergrowth, open broadleaf evergreen, pine and mixed forests, forest edge, scrub, abandoned cultivation, tea plantations, bamboo, sometimes other grassland. Also natural openings in more extensive areas of intact forest.
Notes:
I had seen it in a roadside mixed forested area on my way to Dirang in Arunachal Pradesh, India.

Arunachal Pradesh encountered a trail of destruction due to a cyclonic storm accompanied by rain, killing a person, rendering 100 people homeless and damaging houses. One Khonil Gogoi of New Mohong area in Namsai district died on the spot when a building collapsed on him on Monday evening during the storm, an official report said on Wednesday. The storm, which lasted for about 90 minutes, also damaged 180 houses completely and several others partially besides uprooting many trees, snapping power supply lines and damaging cattle sheds and granaries.
Arunachal Pradesh: Month-long expedition of team NIMAS successfully completed, sets National Record
The expedition by NIMAS was led by Colonel Sarfraz Singh which had begun on November 22 and completed seven phases of Arunachal river rafting on December 23.

Itanagar: Team of National Institute of Mountaineering & Allied Sports (NIMAS) has successfully completed their month-long expedition on December 23, covering all the major seven rivers of Arunachal Pradesh.
The team was led by Colonel Sarfraz Singh. The expedition had begun on November 22 and is comprised of 10 local youths of the state and 15 army personnel from NIMAS.
The aim of the expedition was to explore parts of Arunachal Pradesh thought the tributaries of Brahmaputra and to promote adventure tourism in the state.

Itanagar: International rallyist Gaurav Gill, conquered the Rally of Arunachal, winning both the opening rounds of the Champions Yacht Club-Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI) Indian National Rally Championship (INRC), 2020, on Sunday.
The JK tyre driver with Musa Sheriff started off from where he had left and after recording a stellar victory in round 1 at the time place two days back posted a total time of 42:15:00 minutes to win the rally and finish the Arunachal leg with a grand double.
