(WBNG) A woman was arrested for a suspicious fire that occurred in August 2020, authorities in Tioga County say.
The Tioga County Sheriff s Department says 28-year-old Misty M. Smith of Waverly was charged with arson in the second degree, criminal mischief in the fourth degree, and criminal mischief in the second degree. All of these charges are felonies.
Smith was arrested following a months-long investigation into a structure fire on Camptown Road in the town of Barton. Several vehicles at the scene had profanity spray-painted on them, too, the sheriff s office says.
Smith was arraigned in court and was later released on her own recognizance. She is scheduled to appear at the Town of Barton Court on Jan. 19.
