In San Augustine the Wolves made it official by promoting Tory Barnes into the role. Barnes will also be the head football coach and will hand off his duties as boys basketball coach and track coach. Barnes is an alum of the school and has worked for the district for the past 15 years. Barnes was the Offensive Coordinator for Marty Murr, who left for the Athletic Director job at Jarrell ISD.

At the March 31 meeting of the Jarrell ISD Board of Trustees, the board approved Marty Murr as Jarrell ISD’s athletic director and head football coach. The UIL created rules for athletes, coaches, and spectators to follow this season. This included wearing a face mask, social distancing, and allowing for fifty percent capacity at games. Marty Murr, San Augustine’s Athletic Director, said that their band program took a hit due to low concession sales.
