The Millet Museum is proud to accept the 2020 Organizational OuTstanding In Stewardship (OTIS) Award from the Battle River Watershed Alliance (BRWA). The OTIS Award recognizes the actions taken by businesses, organizations, individuals, and youth to care for our watershed, including the land, air, water, and biodiversity.
The Museum was nominated for several stewardship initiatives. After participating in the BRWA’s Finding Common Ground 2.0 energy tour in fall 2019, the Museum presented knowledge gained on the tour to other museum’s and community groups. This research was intended to be use in the creation of environment themed exhibits in summer 2020. While this exhibit was postponed, the Museum instead created 3 virtual exhibits. With new Provincially-mandated health measures in place, Wetaskiwin County has 17 active cases, with three more people recovered, but The City of Wetaskiwin and Maskwacis continue to see cases increasing.
As of Monday, there are 58 active cases in the City. Maskwcais Health Services reported 223 among the Four Nations with eight hospitalized from the virus that continues to spread across the province.
